subsidy stateaided it is however curious that they received twenty per cent commission on the sale of dyes for the Badlische

Fabrik while their business connected with Export and Piecegoods

import seems to have been carried on at a loss. They defrayed expenses out of the twenty per cent. on dyes. It is to be imagined that any direct amount of subsidy would be paid to heed

office in Germany and would not appear as such in the books of the Hongkong Branch.
